I fabricated a bracket to hold the VH44 brake booster up against the bulk head a while ago however despite being made in 3mm steel, I wanted improve it slightly (over-engineer it?) so that it had some gussets to prevent any twisting in the bracket. Then after I welded those in I wanted to give it a cleaner look and hide the gussets so I added a top piece where the bracket shape was close to the shape of the booster casing. With this top piece in place the gussets aren't really required any more but it was too much effort to get rid of them so I've left them in place.
