Engine Bay Air Pipework

I have finished the engine bay pipework for the airbox => turbo => intercooler => intake manifold. The pipework is all 2" / 51mm diameter pipework, with the exception of a smaller diameter section pre-turbo since the intake of the turbo is only 40mm. I have used silicon hoses to join all the pipes together - all in BLACK as I 'm not a fan of blinged up engine bays.

A series of 45 and 90 degree steel pipes were used, and it didn't take much time to mark, trim and tack/weld together all the pieces together.

This is the airbox to turbo piece (fully welded) showing the silicon 51mm to 40mm reducer and 40mm pipework pre-turbo.

I also had to reconsider the design of the upper radiator hose, as for some reason I had not thought about where the thermofan would sit in the original design. I used three pieces and joined them together with a small 50mm length of aluminium tubing and a sensor housing which will be used for a water temperature sensor. These will of course have clamps put on later.

I have pulled the two pieces of rubber pipe apart slightly to show the joiner pipe. This pic also shows the pipe fouling up against the thermofan shroud. I have trimmed the shroud slightly but I will be making a bracket that will hold this part of the pipe towards the engine and away from the fan.
