I haven't seen or used my pool table in about two months because it has had the Starlet wiring loom strewn across it while I documented much of the loom and connections that came with my (Gen 1 - 1991) EP82 Starlet GT front cut. Each night after work, I would spend an hour so on it and a few more hours on the weekends. The door wiring looms and the rear wiring loom were not included with the front cut so I haven't included any detailed info on those looms - only what's wires lead to the loom connecters.
Since I won't be using the Starlet air-conditioning, power steering and power windows in my Mini, what has been omitted from the doc is also the exact wiring for those power windows/power mirrors, and exact HVAC switching and control. My front cut had no TEMS or ABS so that's not available either.
This PDF DOES document :
I have spent over 150 hours on this doc and I am providing it FREE for the good of the wider community. If anyone has any corrections, suggestions of simple ideas on how to improve it, just let me know via the Comment link below and I'll sort it out.

- The loom layout (to scale) of the two main wiring looms
- A photo, ID, pinouts of every connector with wiring colours from each
- Quick reference table for Connector IDs
- Conduction tables for the combination switches (lighting, indicators, wipers)
- Fuse & relay ID's and pinouts of every relay
- Wiring diagram of the instrument cluster (for my Gen 1 EP82 - this changes in later EP82 models)
- The configuration of A/C Condenser and radiator fan relays and how they work in conjunction with the coolant temperature sensor and A/C refrigerant pressure switches

Hi Alan,
ReplyDeleteThe document you have made is brilliant, the most helpful document i have come across with regards to what the connectors should actually look like! Half the battle when looking through wire diagrams is trying to figure out that what your looking at on a diagram is what your looking at in your hand.
I was wondering if you had a list of wires, connections, relays and fuses (e.g. a/c) you may have removed for fitment into the Mini? Have you spliced the two looms (mini and starlet) together, if so where?
Thanks for your help and documentation of your build on these pages, it has been a huge amount of help.
Kind Regards,
David.
I haven't yet done any installation of wiring in the Mini yet, but I will more than likely document this in a post once done. There will be NO Mini wiring in the entire car as even for the rear lights, indicators, fuel pump etc, I intend on extending the Starlet wiring for these functions.
