No spectacular update today. I greased up the starter motor and bolted it to the bell housing. I removed the couple of long bolts holding the housing on and removed the casing & motor. This is how the pieces fit together :

I used high temperature bearing grease and applied it to the points where the lever pivots. Be careful not to get any grease on the copper windings in the main casing.
