Split / Divorced Dump Pipe

I recently bought a second hand split dump pipe for the engine. The pipe was designed as a direct replacement for the catalytic converter in a Toyota Starlet but I had to modify the mount for it, so it bolts onto the lower engine block. This is to ensure the weight of the dump pipe & exhaust is not hanging off the turbo. The pipe (as well as the tubular exhaust manifold) will be ceramic coated some time later to try and reduce the amount of heat emitted into the engine bay.

Looking from a side angle, it will be inetresting to see how well the pipe will fit in the Mini engine bay with the wastegate pipe situated a little further forward than the turbo itself. Fingers crossed I won't have to modify any of the body. The oxygen sensor bung at the top of the pipe will remain in place but I will have another bung for an Air/Fuel Ratio meter in the section of main exhaust (directly after the dump pipe) so the A/F sensor uses ALL the gases in it's reading.

EDIT : I have since done a trial fit of the engine (Sept 2010) in the front custom subframe and the above dump pipe doesn't fit. Specifically, the separate pipe for the wastegate fouls on the front subframe bar. So I am going to sell it and get a single pipe made up later.

On another note, my latest order from the UK (amongst some small gaskets & rubbers) is a full suspension kit with KYB Gas-A-Just shocks & MiniSpares red dot cones. I also bought a new clutch master and an adjutable brake bias valve. The only big parts purchase from this point on is a full set of new window & door rubbers/seals.
