Rebuilding rear brakes

I had the rebuild kit installed in the radius arms by a local Mini shop since I don't have the tools necessary to do it properly. I have them back and have now reassembled the rear brakes. By this stage, everything has been sandblasted, repainted and ready to be bolted together. As usual, here's a step by step on how to do it.

To make things easier, I installed the brake slave cylinder first (don't forget the gasket between the cylinder and backing plate) and spent the next 1/2 hour swearing & cursing trying to get the damn 'E' Clips onto the back of the cylinder. I've been told there is a "knack" to it but it basically involves holding one side of the clip down and levering the other side over with a screwdriver.

Bolt on the backing plate with cylinder attached onto the radius arm, along with the handbrake cable bracket and screw in the adjuster wedge.

Put the two adjuster tappets in place and put one brake shoe in it's final resting place. Then put the two springs and handbrake lever in place with one shoe sitting on top of everything else

Grab the 2nd brake shoe and pull it over the cylinder etc and put it in place

Slide the hub over the shaft. I have put the drum over this assembly and put it all aside, ready for the brake line work at a later date.
