After most of a weekend spent scraping the black body sealer off the underbody, wheel arches and engine bay, the extent of the rust has become more apparent. Previous repairs have been a patch job at best. The rear valance is mostly being held on by bog. I have found fibreglass resin stuffed into rust holes in the corner panels just in front of the rear subframe and the best one... 2.5mm steel plate welded (but not sealed) over rust in the rear of the front wheel arches.
The shell is upside down here, but these are the before & after shots of the front passenger wheel arch after grinding off the plates that were welded on during the previous repair. A gaping hole appears!
