I picked up the rims yesterday from the powder coaters and even though I picked the brightest silver they provide in the powder coat range, they ended up being grey rather than silver. I was disappointed to say the least. I talked to the owner about the colour difference and despite his assurances that the colour was the silver I chose, I still don't think it was. He charged me $200 instead of $250 and I promptly visited my local auto paint store to get some bright metallic silver and clear paint and will paint them soon. The rims needs a recoat anyway so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
It's time like these where I'm happy I built a small paint booth in my workshop and not have to try and paint in the open in the garage ... and find overspray over everything for years to come!
