The remaining wiring and a couple of sensors in the engine bay have now been disconnected and the engine bay would look decidedly bare if it wasn't for the mess of the wiring loom. There are two points in which the loom enters the cabin - right in the middle of the firewall and also on the passengers side. Once the dash, wiring, switches, fuse boxes etc are removed in the cabin (after labelling everything of course), I'll feed everything through these two points. Most of the wiring is wrapped in electrical tape and plastic loom tube so I may have to pull some tape off and split up some of the loom before doing this (not 100% whether this is necessary though).
N.B. Be careful with
- Taking connectors off as they can be brittle with age (No, I haven't broken any)
- The ignitor & coil (two boxes bolted to the upper firewall directly above the carbon canister & fuel filter). Store them in a safe place with the ECU.
- The throttle position sensor connector at the rear of the inlet manifold- it has a small wire clip around it which would be easy to lose.

I have seen many people who buy a front cut get a wooden pallet and attach castor wheels so it's easy to move around etc, but I eventually decided against this and put the front cut up on four jack stands. This has been invaluable as have been able to get to things like power steering lines, alternator & starter motor connections all from underneath.
